Key figures
Rules in Ireland
A home charger of up to about 7 kW usually fits within the standard 12 kVA supply (Maximum Import Capacity), so no upgrade application to ESB Networks is needed; if you would exceed it, apply online for a 16 kVA connection. Most Irish homes are single-phase, so 7.4 kW (32 A) is the typical maximum.
SEAI EV Home Charger Grant
UnknownUp to €300 towards buying and installing a smart charger listed on SEAI's Smart Charger Register; you do not need to own an EV, but you need off-street parking at the home, and work may only start after the Letter of Offer. One grant per property, installed by a Safe Electric-registered electrician; apartment developments use the separate Apartment Charging Grant (up to €600 per charge point).
