Air conditioners

Air conditioners compared: we only list models sold in Europe and are now collecting the specs from official sources and manufacturers.

Why there are no models here yet

On VersusIndex we only list air conditioners that are sold in Europe. Models that appear only in non-European registers – such as the California Energy Commission list or the Australian Clean Energy Regulator register – are left out on purpose: you usually cannot buy them here, and their figures are often measured to other standards or for another market. Comparing them does not help you in the Ireland.

So we are rebuilding this category, model by model. As soon as there are enough models with enough comparable data, the comparison table, filters and rankings will appear here.

What you will be able to compare

For each model we will show, among other things, cooling capacity, heating capacity, SEER (cooling), SCOP (heating), energy label cooling, energy label heating, indoor unit sound power and indoor sound pressure (quietest). As in the other categories, every value comes with its source and the date we checked it.

Where the data comes from

For air conditioners the main source is the EU product register for the energy label (EPREL). It lists, per model, the SEER and SCOP, the energy class for cooling and heating and the sound power of the indoor and outdoor units. What it leaves out – refrigerant and charge, maximum pipe length, dimensions and weight – we take from the manufacturers’ own technical datasheets.
